Chapter 2 : Saankhya yoga

Bhagavadgita introduces us to “Sthita Prajna”, which is perfect personality with stabilized consciousness .
There are many things which I couldn’t understand or relate to my everyday life.
A few things I could relate to are:
-> Its okay to get anxious as we are normal human beings who live in this world, but we shouldn’t get influenced by anxiety.
-> Perform your duties. Be it cooking, cleaning, or writing a document.
-> Do not expect anything for doing your duties. Just prepare a meal because it is your duty but don’t expect someone else to praise the food. Understand that you are working in your office because it is your duty. Not all the work you are doing is for your promotion.
-> Its’ okay to have a chocolate on your own (Bodily pleasure) and feel happy about it. But understand that emotional pleasure is higher than bodily pleasure. Ex. When you save this chocolate and gives this to your kid and when you see him enjoying the chocolate without expecting him to offer any chocolate makes you equally happy. Emotional pleasure multiplies when that kid is in need.
Also understand that pleasure of achieving something (Achieving a Master’s degree) is even higher, though it requires some bodily and emotional sacrifices.
-> Understand your potential.
-> Too much obsession with the body is not required. Try to accept your color, shape, height and weight. It’s okay to take care of your body, as “healthy minds live in health bodies”, but don’t ponder too much about it.
